The "Do-in" is a type of self-massage. It is a technique that helps restore the harmony of our energy-circulation. The Do-in consists of long kept movements, breathing exercises, stretching and self massage. The purpose of all of these is to harmonize the circulating life energy in our body (which, in Japanese, is called "ki")

The exercises are easy and can be practiced by all ages. Doing them regularly improves our body-consciousness; we can achieve better resistance to illness, stress, frustration; and it helps us to solve our problems by helping us to concentrate better, and to rest.
